Multimedia projects

Fascinated with storytelling and communication across every medium, I took that fascination to university, graduating with a Bachelor of Multimedia with a focus on the website development and game development streams. I also studied film, radio production and 3D animation.

Game development

There Are Limits

There Are Limits is a short narrative game created using the Ren'py visual novel engine. I wrote all the words, produced all the imagery, and coded all the additional Python required to make this game.

It is a claustrophobic experience that thrusts the player into a conversation with an antagonistic captor.

Pipe Dream is a coming-of-age visual novel, where the player's choices will lead to one of 19 endings.

I wrote three of the game's six routes, which totalled over 120,000 words.

I also included all the necessary Python code for menu choices and variable tracking in my portions of the game — so everything was ready to be integrated by the lead developer straight away.

Design

I enjoy creating simple, playful shirt designs. View some of my favourites at my print-on-demand store, Seagull Eat Chip

Music and audio editing

I have composed music using a variety of software, and cleaned up audio using tools including Adobe Audition for use in multimedia projects.

Here is an example track I've mixed to use as a looping battle theme for a game I currently have in development:

Video editing

I have provided video editing services for conventions, musicians, science museums and more.

Highlight reel example

Below you can find a gig video I put together for the band Werewolf, which cut together multiple pieces of footage shot on mobile phones.

Audio editing and substitution

During the recording of this Let's Play, the capture of the game audio cut out about halfway into the video without warning. So I replaced the game music with credited Creative Commons music, and replaced key sound effects in a similar way. You can hear my substitutions from about 14 minutes onwards, with several notable ones at 18:48 on.

Video-in-video and audio synch correction

When the game footage and webcam footage were recorded simultaneously, there was an issue where the webcam continually dropped frames, leading to both the webcam audio and video being out of synch with the game footage and each other.

So to fix this, I carefully trimmed the webcam audio and video feeds and matched up each game event with key footage from the webcam, piecing things together until things appeared to be shot together as intended.

Website development

My origin story is written in HTML

At various points in my career I have worked on all aspects of building websites - from setting up web servers (Ubuntu and IIS) and installing content management systems, to designing the visuals and information architecture, user testing, creating content, and writing custom CMS modules. I have worked with Joomla, Wordpress, Kentico, SharePoint and Drupal.

I created websites from scratch using HTML, PHP, and CSS, as well as designing templates for CMS platforms such as Joomla and WordPress. While I no longer offer full web development services, my expertise in website usability, accessibility, and content structure remains a strong asset in my technical writing work.

If you're looking for template modifications or want help getting set up on a host like Wix or Squarespace, I can help ensure your site is structured effectively, communicates your content clearly, and that you have the knowledge you need to maintain it. I’m also able to apply my information architecture and usability knowledge to guide website projects from a content and user experience perspective.
